How can I train my dog to sleep in his own area?
I have a Schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle mix) who is now one year old. I live in an apartment and need to limit my dogs barking to avoid noise complaints. He is a smart dog and catches on with consistent training. Since he was a puppy however I made the mistake of letting him sleep with me on the bed. How can I designate an area for him to sleep at night, while keeping him comfortable enough with it that he wont bark or whine all night? (Which he does for hours in his kennel) I am a firm believer in the pack training system and do not like the idea of shock collars, or physical punishment. Also, I have purchased two beds for him in the past and he confuses them as toys and will rip them up, although chewing is not a regular problem.
