How strict are north carolina firework laws?

I will be on the Outer Banks of NC for the 4th of July (specifically Nags Head) - I have some roman candles but they are listed as illegal in NC..how strictly do they enforce the laws? I don't have mortars or anything else..just roman candles..nothing terribly exciting or loud.
