Is the internet the modern day tower of babel?

So the tower of babel, in all its absurd wisdom, was basically humans getting too powerful and smart and proactive. God was not going to have that so he created different languages and spread people out. With the internet giving us potentially a one world learning center and connecting us to one another, is this the new tower of babel?
