Question about a girl who may have some problems with what job I want to get?

Alright, long story. There is this girl in my neighborhood that I like, and I think she likes me too (One of her friends told me). But, her brother was a SUSPECTED burglar and was chased by a cop, and later shot and killed after the cop saw he had a gun. So i think her family has a problem with cops, but I don't think she really blames all cops like the rest of her family. The problem: My dad is a cop and I hope to become one in about 6 years (I'm 15). Is this a problem and should I try asking her out since i heard she likes me? Also, her mom is kind of strict....
